Nancy Borton—District Manager

Nancy Borton started her 25th year with the 3 Goshen County Districts as of July of 2009. She has been honored to be the Employee of the Year once and Area II employee four times during her service with the Districts. Nancy is in charge of the day to day operations of the Districts’ and supervises the operations of other staff members. She is responsible for carrying out the plans of the District and activities of the districts with

the appropriate state and federal planning and action agencies. She is responsible for applying for and working up proposals for grants to help fund projects the district wants to accomplish but does not have funding for and has been very successful in obtaining several throughout the past 25 years with the district She is responsible for the preparation of the

Annual Plan and Report, Budget, Long Range Plan, Audits and other financial requirements with WDA and WACD as well as other programs as requested by the Board. She also serves as a representative of the Boards at meetings, etc. as requested. Nancy enjoys the variety of her duties with the districts and the programs they are involved with.

Karri Ellis—District Secretary/Education Coordinator

This was Karri’s 2nd year with the District as their District Secretary and Education Coordinator. Being raised in the area and now living on a farm near Lingle with her husband, she is very familiar with the ag and farming industry. With that experience as her background she has been very active and creative in the educational presentations she has presented to school kids and organization throughout the past two years. Karri has taken over the responsibility of publishing the district’s newsletter on a quarterly basis and has been a very efficient editor of the districts newsletter. Karri does an excellent job of coming up with ideas for the educational booth during our Goshen County Fair. Karri is responsible for taking tree orders on a daily basis and compiling all

order information on the computer and placing orders to the nurseries on a weekly basis. Karri also has assisted with tree plantings when crew members are absent. She has worked with over 200 school students in Goshen County on the World Wide Water Monitoring event on the North Platte River & Bear Creek and does a water quality presentation in conjunction with the Ag Expo in Goshen County. Karri is responsible for taking minutes at all board meetings and working up the checks for all bills prior to board meetings as well as the financial report. Karri is a very good team member and offers her assistance where ever and whenever needed. The North Platte Valley Conservation District Supervisors as well as the other employees are very pleased she is part of their team.
